Improved Solution For IP Rated EcoMate Amphenol Connectors
With the increasing demand for rugged, IP rated solutions. The Amphenol EcoMate series fits the bill. Used in a broad spectrum of industries such as Aerospace, Communication, Industrial and Military atmospheres these connectors offer high performance. Connector housing is made up of composite material which is compatible with most thermoplastic overmold compounds.
ISC Engineering’s improved overmolded solution helps provide a ruggedized, high flex cable assembly which can help achieve critical IP ratings. Injection overmolding with thermoplastic compounds such as Santoprene and polyurethane is an effective means of providing strain relief for wire terminations. In addition to the cosmetic benefits, it offers mechanical advantages with options for mounting hardware and angled cable exits. Along with options to help achieve desired IP ratings.
The primary mechanical advantage of the overmold is the final form and most importantly, flex relief. Flex relief in a molded cable assembly is most easily defined as improvement to the flex life of the cable itself. Additional benefits of a molded design are enhanced ingress protection by further sealing of the backside on the connector, helping to provide a rugged solution to withstand harsh environments and stringent industry standards. Options to incorporate circuit boards (PCB’s) with most circular style connectors are also available.
